I WON!

I can't explain how amazing it feels to be the new "Miss Teen Earth United States". I feel so honored and grateful to be able to hold this title! It is a dream come true for me and such a blessing. I cannot wait to promote my causes this year and continue working as an advocate for environmental awareness and protection. I plan on also promoting Clean the World Foundation as it is my personal platform and a cause that I am deeply passionate about.

To Evan my director, I am going to make you so proud. I can't wait for an amazing year working with you and everyone on your team! To Shawn and everyone at Clean the World; Thank you so much for your support leading up to the pageant and I am so grateful to be apart of this organization. I am so blessed to have an opportunity to save lives with soap and I can't wait to see the progress that we make this year!

I had the best week competing at Miss Teen Earth United States!!! I made life-long friends and had the time of my life. Every single day was jam packed with events, activities, and rehearsals. We had an event where we went shopping at a thrift store called "Savers" and we had a $10 spending limit to buy our opening number outfits. I love when shopping and recycling go hand in hand! We also planted a tree on the Primm Valley Resort property. I can't wait to put the pictures up. We were really proud of our gift to the hotel. We also modeled in a fashion show and I had the opportunity to model a dress that was created by Franovik Designs. It was a white gown made from a curtain and was so gorgeous!!! I was so excited that I got to model that dress. INCREDIBLE! We even did a project where we made a huge dinosaur created from recycled products and we named him "Recyclesaurus" and we are donating him to the mall for a contest that kids can enter to raise money.

As I said, I had the time of my life! I cannot wait for everything I have in store for this year. I have so many plans and ideas!

I will have a link up soon that will lead you to my new website so continue to look out for that!

CLEAN THE WORLD IS ON FOX NEWS!

I just wanted to let everyone know that tonight at 10pm there was a piece about CLEAN THE WORLD that aired on Fox News. It talks about the organization and the trip that we took to Haiti. Fox news cameras covered the trip and aired the story on the news tonight!

Please visit this link to watch the story: www.myfoxorlando.com/dpp/news/seminole_news/072409_Hope_in_a_bar_of_soap

I could not be more proud of how far this organization has come in such little time! I cannot wait for the progress that is in the future. But one thing we have realized after this trip is HOW DESPERATE these people are for soap. It is not a choice for us anymore. We MUST bring them soap.

Please visit our website to find out about donations and learn more about CLEAN THE WORLD.

Clean the World Foundation Factory

This morning I had the opportunity to finally go and learn about the workings and functions of the "Clean the World Foundation" Factory and I got to learn SO MUCH! We went through the entire process of how the soap is sanitized and repackaged and it was such a great learning experience. I even got some first hand experience of how to make the soap myself.

The foundation is making leaps in innovation. From a tedious process of handcleaning, cooking, and remolding the soap, we have found a way to sanitize the soap using a pressure steaming process. First the soap is soaked in a sterilizing liquid and then placed on a metal sheet and steamed at 220 degrees for 7 minutes. Because soap is porous, it is cleaned from the inside-out. There have been tests done on the soap that have shown that this process kills ALL bacteria that may be in the soap. After it is heated and cleaned, it is placed in a freezer to cool and be shrink wrapped. It is then placed in buckets until it is sent off to third world countries.

This process is the most timely process created to date and allows the factory to sanitize and recycle 15,000 bars of soap daily. This will allow us to reach more people!

However we still need YOUR help! If you would like to make a donation to the charity or provide us with soap please visit our website at http://www.cleantheworldfoundation.org/.

One very special thing I am asking for is a connection to someone who knows how we can get biodegradable shrink wrap. It would be such a blessing if you could contact with me information on how I could go about getting some donated!

And check back in the next few days for the youtube video that I am going to be posting. I will also have pictures from the Haiti trip last week and updates about when FOX News will be airing the footage!!!
GOD Bless and Stay Green!

Press Release of how I joined Clean the World Foundation with Ocean Waters Hotels

"July 10, 2009, DAYTONA BEACH, FL -- Building on their green legacy, Ocean Waters Hotels & Resorts has found a way to reduce waste and also give back to local charities.

Ocean Waters has partnered with the Clean the World Foundation and Earth Pageant Productions to safely recycle unused soap and shampoo from guest rooms and provide them to local charities.

"The Plaza Resort & Spa was the first certified green hotel on the Daytona Beach Oceanfront. We want to continue to push forward and lessen the environmental impact of all our hotels," says Rob Pici, Vice President of Ocean Waters and General Manager of the Plaza.

Used soaps will be recycled and cleaned using a hygienic process before being redistributed. Soaps and shampoos will be distributed to the STAR Family Shelter in Daytona Beach and other Central Florida shelters. The STAR Center provides shelter to homeless families with children in Volusia County. Ocean Waters was a founding contributor to the STAR Center when it was first opened.

The new, green, initiative was brought to Ocean Waters with the help of Miss Teen Earth Florida, Jolie Noelle Schamber. Ms Schamber spearheaded collaboration between Ocean Waters and "Clean the World Foundation."

"We all share responsibility to do what we can to ease our burden on the Earth," says Ms. Schamber, "Not only can we reprocess the (usually) wasted quantities of soap... but we can help local charities who can't afford to provide these basic necessities to the people they support."

Unused portions of soap and shampoo are collected from all 24 properties in the Ocean Waters Family.

The STAR Center is located at 340 N. Street in Daytona Beach."

Vacation Bible School - Clean the World Foundation

Today was such an awesome day! This morning I arrived at the First Congressional Church in Winter Park to speak at Vacation Bible School on behalf of the "Clean the World" Foundation. I got the chance to tell my story and relate my message to tons of kids from pre-k to 6th grade.

I had such a fun time working with the kids. With the younger ones, I got to talk to them about why it is important to give to other kids around the world who are less fortunate and we even played with bubbles at the end of the lesson. They definitely loved that!

For the older kids, I was so impressed by how receptive they were to my cause. Lots of the children told me their own stories about how they have volunteered in the past, and many of the children voiced their excitment about wanting to help me as well. We decided that we are going to leave a bin at the church for soap donation and the kids are going to help decorate it and make a poster advertising the collection bin at the church. I am so impressed by how caring and mature these young children were and by the level of understanding they had about the importance of helping those less fortunate.

I was also so excited to see how much soap the kids brought in for donation today. I cannot wait for the progress that the Foundation will be making! Every step brings us closer to our goal of saving 1 million lives each year!

Allison's Tournament of Hope

Hi Everyone!
This post is all about an event I went to on Saturday. It was called "Allison's Tournament of Hope" and I had such an amazing time supporting such a great cause and being able to spend the day with such an amazing young girl!

Allison is a "miracle child" with the Children's Miracle Network and she truly is a miracle. Through all of her battles I have never met a 9 year old girl who was more optimistic or more full of life! It was so inspiring to learn about what she went through and how her and her family have battled through it all. I am so impressed with what her family is doing to help support the Children's Miracle Network as an effort to give back for all that the organization did to help Allison.

The tournament was a huge success! 120 golfers arrived in Celebration, Florida to compete and raise money. The day began with the golf tournament followed by a delicious lunch and a silent auction.

This is an annual event so if you are interested in donating or becoming a sponsor for next year please visit their website. While you are there please read Allison's story!!!

Camelot Elementary School Ecology Fair

Today was the 2009 ecology fair at Camelot Elementary School! I just wanted to talk about it a little and add some pictures. I had such a wonderful time talking to the kids and seeing all of the artwork they had done to promote environmental protection.

One of the most important things we can do as "Beauties for a Cause" is to educate and encourage children to start making habits that will help the environment now and in the future. They are our promise for tomorrow, and if children develop habits at an early age they will carry it into adulthood. It was so great to see so many kids excited about protecting our Earth and excited about learning new ways to help.

I was so happy to be part of this positive event!

Clean the World Foundation Hotel Meeting

As you may already know I am extremely passionate about the "Clean the World" Foundation. I have posted a blog about their foundation recently so please read the entry about them if you have not done so already!
On Thursday I attended a meeting with the foundation to promote their cause and rally support. 23 Daytona hotel General Managers attended the meeting to listen to our proposal and sign on to becoming involved. We were so happy to have such a great turnout and all the hotel managers are eager to institute the program in their hotels.
I just wanted to say Congratulations to a successful day and I'm so excited about the things that are approaching in the near future for this charity.

Green Fest '09

On Sunday I attended Green Fest and let me just start out by saying that I had SUCH an amazing day! As soon as I got there I got to chat with some amazing companies who are all doing great things to help the environment. Then I was whisked away to introduce one of the chilren's performers. Afterwards, I got to mingle some more. I always love attending these kinds of events because it is such a learning experience for me to become more educated on things I can be doing to help.

Towards the end of the night I was scheduled to be modeling the finale piece in a runway show hosted by Merrigan's Boutique. The dress I modeled was GORGEOUS. Im wearing it in the picture to the left and in the pictures at the bottom. It was hand made from recycled materials which is eco friendly; something that I definitely like.

It was the first year for this event but you never would have known by looking at how many people showed up! There were hundreds of people out to support the Earth. This will definitely be a long running event in the years to come and I was excited to be part of it.

Check out the pictures! Thanks!

Forty VII Charity Fashion Show

Hi, I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Mine was super busy but tons of fun. I wanted to tell everyone about the Forty VII charity fashion show that I did on Saturday night. It was so amazing and such a huge success. If you read my earlier post about it you already know that it was hosted by Forty VII clothing which is an inovative Downtown Orlando clothing store. The owner of the store is Jeff Faine, center for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On saturday night they hosted a fashion show to benefit the Children's Home Society.

The night was amazing. The show was hosted by XL 106.7's Johnny and Jade and all food and drinks were provided by Urban Flats. There were over 500 people at the event and tons of media!!! I was pleased and honored to be the opening walk of the show in which i modeled a purple and blue lucky brand bathing suit. In the picture to the left was my second walk. I am wearing Frankie B jeans and a BCBG top. And in my third walk I wore a deep purple and green BCBG dress. After the event, tons of people filled the store downtown to buy clothing. I was happy to see the store so busy becuase all proceeds from the night were going to be donated to the Children's Home Society.

Overall, the event was a great time and a huge success for such a deserving charity! I love when fun and fundraising go hand in hand!

(Im going to post some pictures below for everyone to check out. The first one is a publicity shot from inside the salon where we all got done up. The second one is a press shot by the Orlando Sentinel of me in my opening walk. And the third shot is of me and Jeff Faine.)

Hi everyone,
I would like to take this time to inform everyone of an organization called "Clean the World Foundation."

The foundation is an Orlando based non profit organization that partners with hotels to provide soap to third world countries where 3.5 million children are dying of acute respiratory infection which is a preventable disease. In an effort to prevent this, the foundation distributes recycled soap products along with the appropriate educational materials to domestic homeless shelters and impoverished countries worldwide.

I am currently partnering with this organization as it is one of my official platforms.
"It's people helping people that make the greatest difference."

First Update - Green Fashion Miami

Hi Everyone,

I just created this blog site and I'm very excited to keep everyone updated on the things I have been working on as Miss Teen Earth Florida! So far, my year has been amazing. It started out with the Green Fashion Miami runway show that was held in South Beach during Fashion Week. I had the honor of helping greet people at the door and I got to speak with many important environmental activists. I can't forget to mention all the press that showed up to the event! It was truly an amazing experience and I am so honored that I was abled to attend.

The most amazing aspect of this particular fashion show was that all the clothing was created with recycled, earthly friendly, materials. Each piece of clothing was virtually a work of art and a step towards the progress of a Green World.

The fashion show actually marks the first Green fashion event in Miami Beach!!

Thanks to everyone for reading and god bless!

With Love,
